What can’t you do with an English degree? That’s right! You can do almost anything you want with a degree in English. The curriculum teaches you to write and analyze on many different levels.

Here are 10 careers to consider if you’re planning on studying English.

Biomedical research assistants prepare a range of documents that present detailed information about the physical and medical sciences. They research findings for science and medicine, organize information for public relations and interpret data and information for the general public.

Technical writers develop scientific and technical materials, such as scientific and medical reports, equipment manuals, appendices or operating and maintenance instructions. Technical writing can be a lucrative career.

Creative writers are those such as poets and lyricists. The field also includes novelists, playwrights and screenwriters. Copywriters prepare creative advertising copy for use by publications or broadcast media to promote the sales

of a product.

Academic advisors are available to discuss various college programs and help students develop schedules that reflect individual needs and meet personal goals.

Publication coordinators plan, schedule and coordinate the production of books, newsletters and magazines. They speak with editors and layout designers in the preparation of publications to make sure that it meets printing and deadline specifications.

Marketing coordinators promote a company or client’s sale of products or services. They also market existing products.
