Summary:

The course of study for a radiology degree requires classes in applied anatomy, physiology, ontological pathology, radiation biology, tumor localization, treatment planning, patient communication and management, and record keeping; however, this is just a short list. Many other classes in the field of cancer treatment are required as well. Achieving a degree in radiology is no easy task and will require long hours of study and hard work; however, the rewards of entering this career field are well worth the long hours and hard work.

Radiology Earning Potential:
The starting salary for a radiologist can be as high as $200,000 per year, but can grow to $400,000 with experience.
Radiology Work Environment:
A radiology degree prepares students for a highly lucrative job with great benefits and a standard 40 hour work week. Radiologists are needed to fill positions in hospitals and clinics. Radiologists are responsible form managing the radiation therapy of cancer patients and maintaining accurate records. Radiologists enjoy a work environment with low stress levels and on average, get as many as 18 vacation days per year.
