Deep forests and a shoreline along the Pacific Ocean often characterize Washington. Those interested in the seafaring industry might be more likely, however, to associate Puget Sound and the multitude of islands dotting the coasts with this picturesque state.
Seattle plays a large role in both the economy and cultural standing of Washington. Other cities of notoriety include Spokane and Tacoma.
Medical scientists, survey researchers, veterinarians, and software engineers are likely to find Washington a prime place for work in the next ten years. Fortunately for residents, Washington is one of the few states that does not impose a personal income tax. Those with degrees in technology and computer fields will be in demand, as the state is home to such businesses as Boeing, Microsoft and Nintendo of America. |
